Hi,

I bought a sar703, a wireless bridge and a wireless receiver from solwise, thinking that it would enable me to overcome the insurmountable problem of wiring between my computer and my phone point (as far apart as they can possibly be in a flat that isn't mine and cannot be modified).

I was surprised when I opened the wireless bridge manual and found that one of the things I needed was a computer with a LAN connection. I assume this isn't so .. and that I only need the LAN connection from the ADSL modem. Someone please say that I don't need a computer to use the wireless bridge !

Thanks,
Carl

You don't need the PC connected all the time but you'll need it at least once to set up the bridge/access point so it knows the address etc for the router, ESSID and channel plus WEP if you use it for the LAN side. And of course set up the router...

Crikey it worked. Although the connection is up and running, fine, I can't seem to find or connect to my access point on the network. Ah well I can live with that.
