I have a home lan with Solwise SAR110/8 port switch combo.
1 P111 500 PC running W2K 10/100 ethernet.
1 IBM laptop P111 800 running W2K. 10/100 ethernet.
Everything works without problems. I am able to plug my laptop into lan and get going immediately at any time.
I have a problem with the switch. If I power it off it will not allow any communications for some time.
I am able to power on/off the SAR110 and get going immediately.
I can swap in a hub instead of the switch and get going immediately.
Eventually after poking and hoping, plugging and unplugging the switch will start working again and then continue to operate without error for days until it is powered off again.
I am not impressed by the operator guide. Which port is the MDI port and what does the MDI acronym mean?
Does anyone have any suggestions about how to recover after a power off. When fault is active and I ping the router or the other PC, I get request timed out messages.
Is it just a fault with the switch?
