Firewall ?

Hi

Is there a firewall built into router if so how do I use it?

Can anyone recommend a firewall ,ipchains or some internet security (Linux) that I colud use.

Yes there is a firewall. In the routers web config go to:

Services tab->Firewall

and there you will see the 'simple' controls.

This is used in conjunction with the IP filters (also on that page) and if you install the Stealth method as posted on Chippies site, then your router should be hidden from the outside world and so much harder to hack.

But remember.... the firewall in the SAR110 won't stop programs on your PC connecting to the internet if you don't want them to.

If you want control over what programs can/can't connect to the internet then you need a software firewall on your computer.
