Hi,
does anybody know if the IP2004/5 phones work fine with the Asterisk PBX?
Thanks
Mike

Thanks for your reply Louise. I've spent most of this weekend trying to get it working with Asterisk.
One thing which I am unable to understand, when I flash the firmware to the SIP one, the SIP option becomes available on the phone menu but when the phone boots it still shows 1.28 on the display?
Also, what is the difference with the IP2005 and IP2006 phones? The 2005 seems cheaper and works with more protocols?
Thanks
Mike

You aren't using the correct 'tools' programme to load the firmware. Use Vr1.32 tools that is part of the all-in-one firmware.
Load the page0 first of all. The the main firmware file. Then load defaults. This will change the IP address to the default for SIP which is 192.168.10.104. Then the version shows correct at 1.32 and also you will find sensible default values for SIP.

If you just want SIP then the IP2006 is a lot better than the IP2005. The IP2006 has duel DSP chips so it can do two voice channel at the same time i.e. converence calls. The IP2005 can only do one voice channel at a time so any conferencing would have to be done by the SIP server.

Yes I am using the 1.32 tools which I
got from the "all in one" firmware, linked from the solwise site.
I followed the instructions in the readme which tells me to load page0 hex file first. Then the bin file.
I never see the default address of the phone as 192.168.10.104, always 192.168.1.10 .
So basically unless the phone boots up and shows 1.32 on the display I am going to have problems?
Thanks
Mike
