Recently purchased some homeplugs and a SAR-600EW. I also have a D-Link ADSL/WAP unit and have chosen to use this as the primary gateway and therefore want too use the SAR unit as a WAP base station only elsewhere in the house. (In the event that the D-Link unit develops a fault, I can redeploy the SAR unit to take over.)
I find the instructions for the SAR unit unclear. Would you please advise me on how to configure the unit for WAP use only. It will be connected to an ethernet switch fed by a homeplug to provide a network path to the D-Link ADSL gateway which itself is connected to the network by a homeplug.
I assume that the SAR unit should not run DHCP.
TIA,
Stuart
PS. Incidentally, I chose the D-Link over the SAR for the gateway as the former maintained a slightly higher performance according to averaged tests using the BT speed test service. Also, I found the web GUI easier.
