We live in a stone-built house and for several years I have been using a Bipac 7560 router with a PL-14 plug and this worked very well. Recently our line and exchange were improved and I now should be getting broadband at around 6mb. It appears that I am connecting at 3.5, but by the time it reaches my computer through the PL-14 plug I am only achieving a speed of 1.3 at best. What can I do to improve matters please? (incidentally this is the speed reached with just the one computer)
Another problem is that I recently got a PL-85PEW plug for my husband so he too could connect to the internet.. If we use this on its own, or with the PL-14, we suffer continuous disconnections. Indeed the third light always flickers on the PL-85PEW as opposed to being static on the PL-14. Is this significant and what could be the problem?
If you can give me some advice here please I would be most grateful, but could you please put it in simple terms as we are not that computer literate!
