I have just purchased 2 x PL-200AV-PEW-N wireless n extenders. It was my intention to use this to connect my router upstairs in my house, down to my Xbox 360 and freesat box in my front room downstairs and also to give me greater coverage on my wireless connection.
All i have done up to now is paired the devices and installed the utility software. Once i had paired them i connected one up to my router and plugged one in downstairs. I then connected up to the downstairs one with my laptop and set the wireless settings and security.
I found that i get a wireless network that has the SSID that i had just given it via the software utility, but i also get an unsecured network called "solwise". I thought that this would be the wireless network setup by the unit upstairs so i went and attempted to connect to that one, however at this point i cannot connect directly with my pc it comes up with a message "cannot connect". I can't use the system like this as people could be using my network as the "solwise" network is unsecured.
Also when i went back downstairs and tried to reconnect to the that unit, it won't connect either.
What am i doing wrong??
