    Corrupted Flash - Help

    Hi guy's

last night I had a power cut and when it came back on the router was completely buggered couldn't communicate at all, on any ip's (i.e. 192.168.7.1 and 192.168.1.1).

When I used the DSL configuration tool and a serial cableall I get is invalid DSL Modem and it wouldn't let reapply the firmware.

I have now using another computer got the latest firmware on the router, but the username and password are invalid so I cannot configure it all all.

Has anyone got any ideas on how to reset the users and passwords, or why I cannot flash the router from my machine.

Any help would be gratefully received.

    Mark

If you changed your username and password, you will probably find that they have been wiped by the upgrade or power cut. The default username and password should be in use again. These are 'admin' for both. Did you try those?

Yeh, I did change them, and I've tried both my old ones and the default admin and still no luck, I even tried the old default EV password

What do you see when connecting by a serial cable? Do you see the mac address or DEBUG or what?

We had a router returned by someone who had 'borrowed' one to test his line. When it came back he'd changed the password and user name. We spent about 30 mins trying to get around this. Even after we loaded the old firmware and then reinstalled the new firmware it STILL had this unknown username/password. In the end I had to clear the flash partition which you can do from the DEBUG or mac address prompt or the Solwise prompt. To do this enter the command 'flashfs wipe 1'. Then put the new firmware back on.

I'm sure there must be an easier way but this worked for me.

Sorted now thanks for your help everyone. Turned out that even after re-applying the firmware the old passwords stay intact.
