    Help with Skype phone v500-DS

    I hope you can help me,

    I recently purchased the above skype phone the Aztech V500-DS and am having a lot of trouble installing it. The problem is that although I have a router which is connected to the internet (I checked) the phone cannot acquire an ip address and so can never login to skype. (The normal landline phone part works fine). Progress so far.

    The phone gets stuck at connecting ATA...

    I have DHCP working on the router which works fine for my laptop.

    Sometime the message comes up connecting skype... but when I check on the router there is no ip address assigned.

    I have tried to change to a static ip address but when I go to menu - settings - network it just times out.

    I've checked the web and other people have the same problem but can't see any solutions...

    If you've had the phone for less than a month then it would have had the firmware upgraded here and you shouldn't be having these problems.
    Try disconnecting the base unit, removing the batteries from the handset and leaving overnight. If this doesn't work I'm afraid you'll needto send it back and I'll swap it for a new upgraded one.

    I bought it only 3 weeks ago for Christmas. Erm the other problem is as I was flying back from Christmas I threw out the box to save space in the suitcase.

    Other info. The router is a ZyXEL Prestige660 and the light comes on at the base station to indicate it sees the network
    Once I got to the option to specify a static IP but can't seem to replicate that.

    Can I return it without the box?

    No tried turning it off and taking out the batteries for 24 hours but didn't make any difference.

    v500ds phone

    Does this phone currently working? I bought a new one recently. It is connecting to ATA and then to Skype. After that Sign in button appears. After entering credentials for skype, "Sign in was not successfull" message is seen. Login is never succeeded.
    But if I enter wrong credentials it says worng username and password. Is there any solution for this problem?
